Elenita, Cards, Palm, Water

In this vignette Elenita is described as a "witch woman", but in today's society she would be described as a fortune teller like the ones you see in Vegas who put on a big show in order to scam you out of your hard earned money. Elenita is no different in trying to take money from little kids who save their allowances. I have never been to a fortune teller in order to "see my future", because I believe it is all a sham when they speak in metaphors. An example of this is when she tells Esperanza that she will have a "home in her heart", and does not explain what that means. This does however dissapoint Esperanza because it is not what she wants in her life.
